I recently spent 10 days at CGH Medical Center. I had to go through the ER. which is always unpleasant because it takes so long, but was fortunate to get a nurse who made everything much easier simply because she was so pleasant, comforting and caring.
That nurse was Megan Bright, and I want to thank her publicly for the wonderful way she took care of me in the ER. I was then transferred to the surgical unit on the second floor. She even came to visit me in my room a few days later.
I’ve had 10 back and neck surgeries over the last 30 years and have spent many days and weeks in some of the finest university hospitals in the country. I’ve never experienced the kind of care I received on the second floor of CGH.
Every one of the nurses and CNAs needs to be commended for everything they do. They go the extra mile for the patient and always have a smile to give.
I was a little depressed having to spend my birthday stuck on IVs. Little did I know this birthday would turn out to be one of my best.
These nurses and CNAs bought me balloons and a card, in which they all wrote some very nice things. Many came in my room and sang “Happy birthday.” The head of the floor, M.J., is an amazing person as well. She allowed my wife to bring my little miniature dachshund in to visit me.
The people of Sterling and surrounding area need to know how very lucky we are to have a hospital like CGH so close by. They have the best of the best there, especially on the second floor, and I want to thank them all for the awesome care I received. God bless you all.
