Girls basketball: Thunder rolls in fourth, beats Fillies

West Carroll outscored Morrison 11-1 in the fourth quarter to earn a 42-36 win in a Polo tournament pool-play game Wednesday.

Ieshia Larson scored 16 points and Kaylee Vos 14 to lead the Thunder (1-5) to their first win of the season.

Chelsea Eads paced the Fillies (2-6) with 12 points. Lakin Goodman added eight.

Oregon 60, Forreston 44: Sam Lambrigtsen scored 12 points and Devyn Absher and McKaylee Beeter added 10 apiece to lead the Hawks to victory.

Sophomore Emylyn Wright contributed nine points and Bree Tourtillot eight for Oregon (7-3). Rachel Walton led Forreston (9-3) with 11 points.

Byron 66, Polo 30: The unbeaten Tigers ran out to a 39-11 halftime lead.

Polo (3-8) got nine points from Alina Llanas and eight from Aleetra Roberts. Sophie Reecher had a game-high 15 points for Byron (12-0), and Mallorie Getzelman added 14.
