STERLING – A Rock Falls man on probation in a battery case is back behind bars after police say he sold more than $300 worth of marijuana to an informant earlier this month.

Aaron T. Johnson, 23, turned himself in Wednesday morning and was charged with unlawful delivery of between 30 and 500 grams of marijuana, felony punishable by 2 to 5 years in prison, and possession of between 2.5 and 10 grams of marijuana, a misdemeanor.

Bond was set at $30,000. He has a preliminary hearing Dec. 20.

According to police, Johnson sold more than 100 hundred grams, or more than 3 1/2 ounces, to an informant on Dec. 6 for more than $300. He also had five individually packaged plastic bags with marijuana in his pocket.

Johnson pleaded guilty to aggravated battery in August and was sentenced to 30 months probation and 60 days jail.
