SYCAMORE – Rita Lou Mitchell, 83, of Sycamore, died Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, at Kishwaukee Community Hospital in DeKalb. She worked at McCoy Chiropractic Clinic in Sycamore for more than 20 years.

Rita was born Aug. 24, 1929, in Ashton, the daughter of Nels T. and Sarah (Roe) Grover. She married Clay Mitchell on July 30, 1948, at Rochelle Untied Methodist Church. 

She is survived by her four children, Mark (Karen) Mitchell of Kingston, Sarah (James) Dempsey of Oshkosh, Wis., Charles Mitchell of Adeline, and the Rev. Timothy (Jody) Mitchell of West Chicago; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Roe and Neil; and four sisters, Charlene, Phyllis, Barbara and Doris. 

Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m., followed by the funeral at 11 a.m. Friday at Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, 110 S. Seventh St., Oregon, with the Rev. Alan L. Meyer, pastor of Reynolds United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be at Lighthouse Cemetery in rural Oregon.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
