OHS hosts its first Relay for Life
OREGON – Oregon High School students raised $12,000 for the American Cancer Society during their Relay for Life Dec. 5 at Blackhawk Center.
They walked a 6-hour marathon; and honored and remembered 129 people affected by cancer during a luminaria ceremony.
Students also participated in service projects. They raised more than 100 pounds of rice on freerice.com to help end world hunger, made hundreds of cards for nursing home residents and overseas military personnel, and 105 fleece scarves for the Village of Progress and the local clothes closet.
