MORRISON – Jay J. Wilkens, 87, of Morrison, died Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, at Morrison Community Hospital. He was a lifetime farmer in the Morrison area.

Jay was born Aug. 12, 1925, in Fulton, the son of John C. and Wilhemina “Minnie” (Eissens) Wilkens. He served in the Army Air Forces during World War II. He married Virginia A. Decker on March 19, 1946, in Morrison. He was a member of Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia; four daughters, Sandra Wilkens of Morrison, Deborah (Gary) Juist of Polo, Ellyn Sue (Charles) Osterday of New Paris, Ind., and Cheryl (Brian) Onken of Morrison; one son, Steven (Lou Ann) Wilkens of Lanark; two sisters, Alice Houzenga of Morrison and Eunice Miller of Dixon; 14 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Inez Valk and Rena Vandereide; and one brother, Cornelius Wilkens.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home in Morrison. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison, with Ken Renkes, director of congregational care at the church, officiating. Interment will be at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison.

A memorial has been established.
