Granzow rolls 780 in Moline

Rock Falls wrestlers take first at Riverdale Invite

The folks at Highland Park Bowl in Moline had to be relieved Saturday afternoon that the oil on the lanes didn't catch fire, thanks to Amber Granzow.

The Sterling senior rolled a Panther Invitational-best 1,358 six-game series, but her last three-game set was historic. With a 244, a 257 and a 279, the 780 is the seventh-highest three-game series in IHSA history.

Sterling coach Dennis Black likened the experience to watching Heather Wolf flirt with a perfect game while shooting an 819 series last November at Plum Hollow in Dixon.
