Aquin 62, Morrison 42: A 24-8 deficit after one period was too much for the Mustangs to overcome.

Byron 62, Milledgeville 28: Similar to the hole Morrison found itself in after one period, the Missiles trailed 22-6 deficit after 8 minutes of play.

Dalton Payton had a game-high 18 points for Byron (5-3), which led 35-14 at the half. Jordan Harris led Milledgeville (2-5) with 13 points.

On pensions, Bivins and GOP far apart

Sen. Tim Bivins, R-Dixon, joined with many of his fellow Senate Republicans this week to reject a pension bill sponsored by Democratic Senate President John Cullerton of Chicago. The measure passed 40-16. Bivins had a different reason for his no vote.
