Earth Angels holiday project in need of help

The deadline for Earth Angels toy donations to be dropped off at our drop site locations is Friday. Afterward, toys and all other donations can still be received at the Mount Morris Senior Center at 9 East Front St., Mount Morris. This will be our headquarters from Dec. 15 through Christmas Day, from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. or later, if necessary.

Please do not forget to mention Girl Scout Troop 5106 of Polo will accept and wrap gifts this year for Earth Angels. For those of you unaware, this helps to earn points toward their community badges. If you have questions, please contact Troop Leader Heather Merdian at 815-291-9239.

Bakers are still needed for the week we are at the Senior Center – not only for energy food for our Santa elves, but for families who bring their children in when picking up their gifts. So please keep Earth Angels in mind when baking for the holidays.

Why the need for middleman?

The other day, we ran a story about the Dixon Tourism Board's website, which is hard to navigate and missing key information, particularly about the Petunia Festival. Are we wasting our time examining local tourism websites?
