BYRON – Deputies arrested three Rockford men who sold 24 bags of heroin to an informant, Sheriff Michael Harn said in a news release.

Jay Moore, 38, Shasta C. Alonzo, 40, and Tyler M. Smith, 24, are charged with delivery of heroin within 1,000 feet of a park. Alonzo also is charged with possession of crack cocaine. Moore also is charged with resisting a peace officer.

Moore and Alonzo were in the Ogle County Jail Thursday on $250,000 and $50,000 bond, respectively. Smith posted $2,500 Wednesday and was released.

The three were arrested Tuesday, the release said. No other information, including the actual amount of the drug sold, was available.

On Nov. 30, deputies arrested Andre T. Hawkins, 33, and Harvey L. Smith, 50, in an unrelated heroin case.

Deputies say the two sold 15 bags of heroin to an informant in Byron.

Hawkins and Smith were in the Ogle County Jail Thursday on $150,000 and $100,000 bond, respectively.
