David L. Reisinger

DIXON – David Lee Reisinger, 70, of Dixon, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, at the University of Chicago in Hyde Park. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 28 years before retiring.

David was born May 1, 1942, in Dixon, the son of Leo Laverne and Ruth (Thompson) Reisinger. He married Carole Ledine on Feb. 1, 1969, at Dixon Church of the Brethren. He served the Lord faithfully at Dixon Church of the Brethren, where he was board chairman, deacon, Sunday school teacher, and Bible study leader. He was an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns, Indians and Cavaliers. He was a member of the American Legion. David coached and managed many baseball teams throughout the years, and played on numerous baseball teams. He enjoyed gardening.

Survivors include his wife, Carole of Dixon; two sons, David (Amanda) Reisinger of Stillman Valley and Joseph (Lisa) Reisinger of Rockford; three grandsons, Jacob Reisinger of Rockford and Joshua Reisinger and Brandon Reisinger, both of Stillman Valley; one brother, Clifford (Sharon) Reisinger of Dixon; and one sister, Barbara Boyer of Morrison.
