State police: Slow down around stranded cars
SPRINGFIELD (AP) — Illinois State Police are reminding motorists to slow down and exercise caution around vehicle crashes and stranded cars because of the likelihood of pedestrians.
Officials said Tuesday pedestrians account for 13 percent of car-crash deaths.
State trooper Kyle Deatherage of St. Jacob was killed Nov. 26 when he was struck by a passing truck while conducting a traffic stop.
