OREGON – Four Oregon High School music students will perform at the Illinois Music Educators Association All-State Festival Jan. 24-26 at Peoria Civic Center, 201 S.W. Jefferson Ave.

“Earning a place in the statewide festival is one of the highest honors high school musicians can receive,” Andy Eckard, band director, said.

To advance to the state level, 12 Oregon students in high school ensembles and 18 in junior high participated Nov. 17 at the District 8 festival in DeKalb.

Students moving on to the conference are Mark Schmidt, clarinet; and Gerry Gehrke, Zach Hall and Grant Huston, all choir members.

The festival will feature band, orchestra and choir concerts Jan. 26.
