Meteorologist will speak at farm show
Nearly 60 booths, kids’ tractor pull to be at Westwood
STERLING – The eighth annual Northwestern Illinois Farm Show will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Westwood Sports Center, 1900 Westwood Drive.
Fifty-eight businesses or organizations will have booths at the show. Exhibitors include Kory Farm Equipment LLC, AgPerspective Inc., Precision Ag and Seed, Prairie Hybrid Seeds and Birkey’s Farm Store.
At 10 a.m. Saturday, Eric Apel, agricultural meteorologist with Mobile Weather Team Inc., will discuss recent and current weather patterns, and give short-term and long-term forecasts. He will also discuss what the expected soil moisture levels and temperature and precipitation patterns mean for farmers’ planting and growing seasons.
