Local students recognized for studies

DIXON – Dixon High School has announced its November Hall of Fame students.

They are Ciara VonHolten, art; Matt Lenox, business; Eric Ruble, English; Jennifer Floto, family resources; Zoey Colglazier, foreign language; Eban Pribble, industrial education; Shana Drengenberg, driver’s education; Catherine Weinzierl and William Helfrich, math; Joey Hammitt, music; Jagger Harvey, physical education; Samantha Odenthal, science; Josh Payne, health; and Rachael Turffs, social studies.

The November Elks Teens of the Month are Turffs and Ruble.

Last week, Sterling Alderwoman Amy Viering attended her last meeting as a city official. She gave the usual praise one hears at such departures. But one compliment stuck out. At the end of her speech, she turned to City Administrator Scott Shumard and said, "You're awesome."
