ROCK FALLS – The owner of Lamb’s Tap has bought the building next door and plans to expand her kitchen and open a dining area.

Barb Lamb closed on the property, which took up three storefronts, on Friday. Her bar is at 215 W. Second St.; the building she bought was occupied by Caring Center until it moved to 210 First Ave. in Sterling a year ago.

She also hopes to install a stage and dance floor, and she plans to hire more cooks, waiters and bartenders, although she doesn’t yet know how many. She expects renovations to be done within 6 months, she said.

The bar already serves lunch – hamburgers, chicken wraps, brats and tenderloins – from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and tacos on Wednesday nights.

The kitchen’s hours will be extended when the renovations are complete, and dinner will be served nightly, she said.

Lamb has owned the bar since 1996; before that, her husband, Wayne “Froggy” Lamb, owned the bar from 1988 until his death on Oct. 11, 2006.

Lamb’s Tap is open from 10 a.m. to 1 a.m. Monday through Saturday, and from noon to 10 p.m. Sunday. Call 815-625-4783 for more information.

Good or bad? Depends on who you ask

Sometimes readers ask for more good news in the paper. They say we in the media only cover the bad. But one person's positive is another's negative.
