It’s been ‘Merry Christmas’ for generations
I agree with Harold Hunt’s letter on Dec. 1 titled “Be not afraid to say ‘Merry Christmas.’” It has always been “Merry Christmas” since I was a little child. It makes me upset when I go into a store and they tell me “Happy Holidays.”
Those employers should not be telling the employees they cannot say “Merry Christmas.” Whatever happened to freedom of speech? When someone tells me “Happy Holidays,” I tell them that this is not what is supposed to be said.
It should be “Merry Christmas,” and you should not be afraid to say it.
