‘Every constituent will be my priority’

Lawmaker-elect says thank you to 71st District voters

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the voters of the 71st House District for trusting me to represent you in the Illinois General Assembly. It is vital that we work together to help our communities grow and prosper during these difficult economic times.

Across Illinois, families like mine and yours face the same struggles and fears – putting food on the table, paying the rent or mortgage, and trying to save for our kids’ college and our retirement. Each and every constituent – Democrat, Republican, independent, voter and non-voter – will be my priority.

I want to thank all of our volunteers throughout the district for all the countless hours knocking on doors, making phone calls, and doing all the work that helped us achieve victory. Your dedication, professionalism, genuine concern for community, and the time spent away from family was greatly appreciated.

In the hallways a Halloween mentality took over, especially when the ketchup-blood concoction was applied on the students. Small talk and "what I'm going to do" plans were passed around freely between laughs and odors of the sickly sweet blood stand-in.
