Donations help YWCA make region better

Published: Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012 1:15 a.m. CDT

Did you know that the YWCA of the Sauk Valley is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all? YWCA makes our communities a better place to live with the services it provides to women, men and children.

I want to extend my gratitude to staff members at our local YWCA for their dedication to making a difference in our area. As we come close to the “fiscal cliff,” you may be looking for a way to reduce the amount you pay to the IRS for 2012. Or perhaps you’re looking for a meaningful way to recognize the holidays – to provide a ray of light and hope for someone.

Either way, your tax-deductible contribution to a local organization will meet your goal.

I will send my contribution to the YWCA of the Sauk Valley, 412 First Ave., Sterling, IL 61081. I encourage others to do the same and help brighten the lives of area people.
