SPRINGFIELD (AP) — Santa is coming to the Old State Capitol.

Families are being invited to join him for an evening of stories, games and crafts in the historic surroundings from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 14.

Children are encouraged to wear pajamas as they enjoy cocoa, cider and other snacks.

Santa will be reading from his favorite stories and children can take home crafts that they make.

Staff will also be collecting donated books for children of Illinois military service members. Warm clothing is also being accepted for Illinois veterans and their families as part of Gov. Pat Quinn's Warm Our Warriors drive.
