Comets split at home; Marcos fall in Byron

The Rock Falls Rockets wrestling team improved its dual record to 10-0 Friday night, traveling to Fulton and beating the Steamers 60-24 and the Orion Chargers 58-16.

Rocket winners by pin against Fulton were Tristan Dudley (113 pounds), Bain Britt (132), Roberto Arellano (152) and Josiah Torres (285). Against Orion, Rock Falls got pins from Tibs Cervantes (138), Zac Muntean (160) and Matt Mammosser (170).

Steamers Sam Grant (126) and Zack Jenkins (182) won by pin against Rock Falls. Fulton lost to Orion 42-36 to complete the triangular. 

Newman splits two duals: Bryce Ivey, Eli Monier and Brady Rude were double winners for the Comets as they split a pair of duals, besting Alleman 35-30 and falling to Kewanee 42-27 at Newman.

Ivey earned a pair of pins, Rude a pin and a technical fall, and Monier a pin and a decision. Newman won all four contested matches against Alleman and four of the five against Kewanee.

Byron 66, Polo 18: The Marcos gave up four forfeits in a dual meet loss on the road. Ethan Cain (145 pounds) and Devin Steen (152) were Polo’s lone winners in contested matches, with both recording pins.
