Keep the wreaths red in Dixon

The Dixon City and Dixon Rural fire departments are conducting their Keep the Wreath Red Campaign for the 19th year.

Both stations will display a Christmas wreath with a single red light bulb in the center. If there is a holiday-related fire in either district, both departments change the bulb to white. The program is a reminder to be safe with holiday decorations.

Pictured are (from left) Tom Kitson of Kitson Tree Farm, who donated the wreath to the city station, firefighters Josh Tucker and Dave Boucher, Terry Nichols of Nichols' Treehouse, who donated the wreath to the rural station, and firefighters George Marke and Ryan Buskol. On the ladders are Scott Romaine (left) and Sean Wagner.
