Sebastian Brodkowicz, 5, of Dixon, had the honor Friday evening of pushing the button to light the tree at KSB Hospital to start off the 2-day Christmas Walk in Dixon.

Thousands of revelers scramble for ping ping balls during Dixon Main Street's Great Snowball Drop on Friday evening. More than 3,000 of the "snowballs" were fired out to the crowd. They contained prizes ranging from a $500 shopping spree to gift certificates to Dixon businesses.

A pancake Breakfast with Santa will be from 8 to 10:30 a.m. today at the Lee County Senior Center and Post House Ballroom. You can take pictures with Santa there from 8 a.m. to noon. At 7 p.m. today, the Dixon Municipal Band has its annual holiday concert at the Historic Dixon Theatre, 114 S. Galena Ave.
