EDMONDS, Wash. – Linda Sue Darfler was born Feb. 23, 1956, in Dixon. She passed away peacefully Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, at her home in Edmonds, surrounded by her immediate family. She was so strong, such a fighter, but had fought and eventually lost a year-and-a-half-long battle with heart disease. Linda was an amazing woman.

She is survived by her significant other of 34 years, David Gerhardt; her son, Kristopher (Shanon); daughter, Stacey (Gunnar); grandson, Matthew; and granddaughter, Aubrey. Also surviving are her four sisters, Cheryl, Connie, Terri and Toni; as well as many in-laws, nieces, nephew and friends.

Linda was preceded in death by her mother, Dolores Horton Cicero; and her father, Charles Darfler.

Linda was an amazing registered nurse, and treated her patients as if they were her own family. She was a loved and valued employee for 30 years at Stevens Hospital/Swedish Edmonds in Edmonds. She not only helped and touched the hearts of her patients, but also those of fellow employees.

Linda had many passions besides caring for people. She loved camping, quilting, scrapbooking, crafts, playing games, cards, going to the beach or for a nice drive. She loved the outdoors, being a Cub Scout leader, etc ... but first and foremost, she loved her family.

Linda was deeply loved and will be missed dearly.
