Darl Vance
MINERAL – Darl Vance, 85, of Mineral, died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012, at East Moline Nursing and Rehab. He was employed by Northwestern Steel and Wire Co. in Sterling for 35 years.
Darl was born July 19, 1927, in Princeton, the son of Leroy and Blanche (Skaggs) Vance. He served in the Army during World War II. He married Janetta Hemminger on Oct. 2, 1948, in Sterling.
Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Connie DeWaele of Rock Falls; four sons, Daryllee (Che) Vance of Killeen, Texas, David (Emilynn) Vance of Nachusa, Doug (Tracey) Vance of Thomas and Dana (Paula) Vance of Princeton; one brother, Noah (Pat) Vance of Hodgensville, Ky.; 10 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
