For all the folks concerned about their taxes increasing, rest at ease.
Rick Ketchum, finance committee chairman, said, “The county’s financial situation is better than it looks like on paper.” That’s “accounting-speak” for, I don’t have a clue. I believe Rita Crundwell made a similar assessment of Dixon’s finances. And this guy wants to be the board’s next chairman.
A professional county administrator, allowed to do his/her job, would provide a budget with cost-cutting measures to fix the deficit. Ketchum knows we have a dump; we have a dump until we don’t have a dump. Then Mr. Ketchum and the board will be long gone, and taxpayers will foot the bill for the ongoing excesses.
I ask the taxpayers of Lee County – is this what you told the people whom you elected to do? If not, get off your collective butts and write these people a letter or email, or call and tell them it’s simply not acceptable to continually run a deficit.
In closing, I, for one, will be 100 percent honest. Seeberg’s leaving is a beautiful thing. I just wish he would stop in Dixon and take Burke with him. However, as always, Seeberg blamed the media, especially SVM reporter David Giuliani, for his problems.
Mr. Seeberg, your continued failure to provide Open Meetings Act compliance, your mistreatment of constituents, and your overall “gnarly” personality is why many are glad you’re gone. None of this was a reporter’s issue or his fault. It was yours and your sidekick’s, Henry Dixon.
And yes, Mr. Seeberg, you can call Dixon “again” right now and tell him to write me another threatening letter, like he has done to some – many on your behalf. You are darn lucky Lee County does not have a recall process.
