Freedom Bank finds a new home
ROCK FALLS – Pay Day and Auto Credit has moved from the southwest corner of Lynn Boulevard and Locust Street in Sterling to 305 W. Route 30, the former Bollman Motors site, in Rock Falls.
The move has freed up space for Freedom Bank, which will move Feb. 1 from 3319 E. Lincolnway to 2403 Locust St.
The bank’s new location will have two drive-up lanes, as does the current location, President Pam Topper said.
It also will have a drive-up ATM, which, to her knowledge, will be the only one on the north side of town, Topper said.
“We’re really excited about it,” especially because the location will be between two large employers, Wahl Clipper and CGH Medical Center, she said.
Ice cream parlor closed for season
PROPHETSTOWN – Carey’s Place is closed for the season and will reopen in late April or early May, owner Joe McDonald said.
The ice cream parlor closed in September, he said.
“We had a good year last year,” he said. “A lot of people were happy with smiles of ice cream.”
