Bail set at $500,000 for shooting defendant
MORRISON – Bail was set Thursday at $500,000 for a Sterling man charged with shooting another man in the hip during an argument earlier this month.
Octavius L. Zackery, 35, appeared via closed-circuit TV. He is charged with aggravated battery with a firearm, aggravated discharge of a firearm, aggravated unlawful use of weapons, and possession of a firearm without a Firearm Owner's Identification Card, a misdemeanor.
The most serious charge, aggravated battery with a firearm, is punishable by 6 to 30 years in prison.
