CHADWICK – Pauline Kness, 92, of Chadwick, died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012, at Pleasant View Nursing Home in Morrison.

Pauline was born Aug. 31, 1920, in Morrison, the daughter of August and Florence (Larkey) Forester. She was raised in Morrison and attended country schools. Pauline married Carl Kness and celebrated more than 50 years of marriage. Carl died May 26, 1993.

Pauline was a homemaker who cherished taking care of her family. She helped her husband operate their family business, Kness Trucking in Chadwick. Pauline also worked at the Chadwick Grocery Store for several years. She was a longtime member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she served on several committees and councils. Pauline enjoyed sewing comforters, cooking and baking, especially her delicious cinnamon rolls and pies. She loved the time spent with close friends daily for coffee.

Pauline will be dearly missed by her daughter, Shirley (Bob) Woessner of Milledgeville; six grandchildren, Robin (Vaughn) Palmer, Ronda (Barry) Imel, Ray (Melissa) Woessner, David (Roxanne) Kness, Steve Kness and Scott Kness; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl; one son, Gerald “Jerry” Kness; two great-great-grandsons, Josh Palmer and Jacob Kness; two sisters, Janet Mondelli and a sister in infancy; and one brother, Henry Forester.

Visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m., followed by the funeral at 10:30 a.m., Thursday at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chadwick. Burial will be at Chadwick Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been established to First Evangelical Lutheran Church and Hospice Care.
