CLINTON, Iowa – Evening Advent prayer will be open to the public at 6 p.m. Sunday and Dec. 9, 16 and 23 at the The Canticle, 841 13th Ave. North.

The Canticle is the Clinton home of the Sisters of St. Francis. This year’s theme centers around spiritual motherhood as described by St. Bonaventure, a scholar and follower of St. Francis of Assisi.

Advent Vespers consists of Scripture readings, song, reflection and praying together. The service lasts 45 minutes.

Vespers is one of the set of daily prayers known as the Liturgy of the Hours, which includes the morning prayers Matins and Lauds, the daytime prayers Terce, Sext and None, and the night prayers, Vespers and Compline.

Parking is available in front of the Canticle. Visit www.clintonfranciscans.com or call 563-242-7611 for more information.
