Felicity Casas (left), 7, of Amboy, writes a letter to Santa with her great-aunt, Ruth Garza of Amboy, Sunday during the Home for the Holidays Christmas Walk in Amboy. The event was from noon to 3 p.m., and included a wreath-decorating contest, a coloring contest, visits and photos with Santa, the Christmas tree lighting, a craft sale, horse-drawn carriage rides, carolers, live music and a bonfire, crafts at the library, and reindeer games for kids from noon to 1 p.m. on the Depot Museum lawn.

Wise saw collapse in support

Last week, Sterling Alderwoman Amy Viering attended her last meeting as a city official. She gave the usual praise one hears at such departures. But one compliment stuck out. At the end of her speech, she turned to City Administrator Scott Shumard and said, "You're awesome."
