ROCK FALLS – Rick Koeppen, 50, of Rock Falls, passed away suddenly Thursday, Nov. 22, 2012, at KSB Hospital in Dixon.

He was born Feb. 14, 1962, in Dixon, the son of Lee and Jane (Cowley) Koeppen. He attended Montmorency School and was a 1980 graduate of Rock Falls High School. He married Tracy Seidel on Sept. 15, 1989. He worked hard his entire life, spending 28 years at National Manufacturing until its closure. He recently was employed by Champion Chisel in Rock Falls. 

Rick was a loving husband and father who enjoyed spending time at home with his wife and sons. He also enjoyed walking his two dachshunds.

Surviving are his wife, Tracy, two sons, Cody and Dylan Koeppen, and his mother, Jane Koeppen, all of Rock Falls; two brothers, Dan (Jeanne) Koeppen of Sterling and Roger (Cindy) Koeppen of Aurora; two sisters, Cindy (Tom) Starr and Becky (Craig) Kilberg, both of Rock Falls; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father and his grandparents.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m Sunday at McDonald Funeral Home, 1002 12th Ave., Rock Falls. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Scott Porter officiating.
