CHICAGO (AP) – An American Airlines flight attendant has been arrested at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport after security screeners discovered a gun in her carry-on luggage.

Airline spokeswoman Mary Frances Fagan confirmed the woman is a flight attendant for American, but would not comment further.

Chicago Police Department spokesman Veejay Zala says the 65-year-old woman was arrested Friday morning after screeners with the Transportation Security Administration discovered the gun in an X-ray machine during routine screening.

A police statement identified her as Sheila Schultz, of Palatine, and said she faces felony and misdemeanor charges. She is scheduled to appear in bond court Saturday.
