Sandra Jean Shomaker
ROCK FALLS – Sandra Jean Shomaker, 69, of Rock Falls, formerly of Dixon, died Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, at Transitions Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Rock Falls.
Sandra was born Dec. 13, 1942, in Urbana, the daughter of Roy and Annette French. She was a graduate of Villa Grove Schools. She worked as a CNA at the Dixon State School, prior to her retirement. Sandra married Richard Bruce Shomaker on Oct. 3, 1965, in Champaign. He preceded her in death on May 27, 1996.
Survivors include one son, Richard Shomaker Jr. of Dixon; one brother, Ed (Lee) French; one stepbrother, Gerald Lee Harvey of Monticello; one stepsister, Nancy (Paul) Jones of Villa Grove; one half sister, Patricia Peterson of Princeton, Ind.; three grandchildren; and her mother-in-law, Dorothy Shomaker of Dixon.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dixon.
