DIXON – Ralph H. Magden, 86, of Dixon, formerly of Elgin, passed away on Nov. 19, 2012, in his home, surrounded by his family.

He was born on Aug. 30, 1926, in Elgin, the son of Frank and Mary (Schlief) Magden. Ralph graduated from Elgin High School in 1944. He was a veteran and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. Ralph attended Tarkio College. He had worked for Dukane Corp., General Time Corp. and Edelmann Co., prior to his retirement. Ralph enjoyed spending time with his wife, family and his faithful companion, Truffy, and was an avid golfer. He will be deeply missed.

Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Magden, whom he married on Oct. 8, 1949, and two children, David Magden of Ohio and Diane Schmitto of Virginia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Florence Stevens.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Laird Funeral Home in Elgin. Burial with honors will follow at Bluff City Cemetery. Family will receive people from 10 a.m. until the time of services.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Serenity Hospice and Home in Oregon.
