Santa story time planned

ROCK FALLS – December activities, meetings and programs will take place at Rock Falls Public Library, 1007 Seventh Ave.

■ Santa Story Time will be at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. There will be stories and photo opportunities with Santa.

■ The Mystery Book Club will meet at 10 a.m. Thursday to discuss “Breakup,” by Dana Stabenow.

■ The library board will meet at 6:30 p.m. Dec 10.

■ Family movie nights will be at 6:30 p.m. Monday showing “White Christmas” and 6:30 p.m. Dec. 13 showing “Christmas in Connecticut.”

■ Scrapbookers will meet from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec 14.

■ The Craft Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. Dec 19.

■ The Candy Cane Ball for families will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Dec. 20. Free tickets are available at the front desk. Guests should wear fancy clothes and dancing shoes. There will be a craft and visiting with Santa.

■ The “Food for Fines” food drive for local food banks will continue through Dec. 31. People can pay library fines with canned goods instead of cash. Each can will waive 50 cents.

■ The library will be closed Dec. 24-25 and Jan. 1. Special hours on Dec. 31 are from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

These three activities require registration and are for children 4 and older:

■ Pinkalicious Tea Party will be from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Dec. 28.

■ “Star Wars” Fun Day will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Jan. 3, with crafts and activities.

■ Fancy Nancy Christmas Extraordinaire will be from 3:45 to 4:30 p.m. Dec. 13. There also will be crafts and activities
