On Tuesday, the County Board’s Planning and Zoning Committee is expected to make its own recommendation on the Mainstream proposal. The County Board will decide on Dec. 11.

The Bureau County Board's Planning and Zoning Committee will make a recommendation on Mainstream Renewable Power's wind farm proposal during its meeting at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at the County Courthouse, 700 S. Main St. in Princeton.

The Bureau County Board is expected to make a final decision at its meeting at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 11, also at the courthouse.

Wise saw collapse in support

On pensions, Bivins and GOP far apart

Sen. Tim Bivins, R-Dixon, joined with many of his fellow Senate Republicans this week to reject a pension bill sponsored by Democratic Senate President John Cullerton of Chicago. The measure passed 40-16. Bivins had a different reason for his no vote.
