ROCK FALLS – Sherry Irene Gholson, 64, of Rock Falls, died Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012, at CGH Medical Center in Sterling.

She was born Jan. 25, 1948, in Sterling, the daughter of Marvin and Carmen (Bohms) Wallace. She was united in marriage to Larry Gholson on Aug. 29, 1970, in Rock Falls. Sherry was a floral assistant at County Market in Sterling for 11 years. She formerly worked at Admiral in Dixon, Family Hair Design as a receptionist and Young’s Bakery in Rock Falls. Sherry was a member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rock Falls.

Surviving are her husband, Larry Gholson; her father, Marvin Wallace of Rock Falls; a daughter, Sheryl (Tom) Wasylik of Crystal, Minn.; a son, Larry Gholson Jr. of Rock Falls; a stepdaughter, Lareen Bittourna of Brookfield; a brother, Dale (Linda) Wallace of Dixon; three grandchildren, Amanda, Tommy Jr. and Deanna; two stepgrandchildren, Amber and Autumn; four great-grandchildren, Zackery, Owen, Drayden and Kamdyn; two nephews, Dale Wallace Jr. and Brandon Wallace; a great-niece, Sydney; and a great-nephew J.T. Warren.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Carmen Wallace.

Visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m., followed by the funeral at 10:30 a.m., Friday at McDonald Funeral Home, 1002 12th Ave., Rock Falls, with the Rev. Henrietta Milner officiating. Burial will follow at Coloma Township Cemetery in Rock Falls.
