DIXON – When Sauk Valley Community College art student Jessica Bonnell chose to do her art history assignment on local artist Tim Drane, she went one step further and asked him to do a demonstration at the school.

Drane will do his abstract “action” or “pour” painting” from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Thursday in room 2K11. The public is invited; admission is free.

Once the painting is complete, it will be donated and displayed at Sauk.

Drane, who began painting in 2011, now has works on display at the Crystal Cor Wine Shoppe and The Next Picture Show in Dixon, and has been a part of numerous art events in the Sauk Valley area.

Contact Amy Dossett, adjunct art instructor, at dosseta@svcc.edu for more information.
