MORRISON – William P. "Bill" Witt, 65, of Morrison, died Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012, at his home. Bill was a former Clinton (Iowa) Fire Department firefighter and most recently was a maintenance supervisor for LyondellBasell before retiring in April 2007.

Bill was born Dec. 6, 1946, in Clinton, the son of Arthur and Marian (Butzbach) Witt. He married Deborah K. Bush on June 5, 1982, in Morrison.

He served in the Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Emmanuel Reformed Church in Morrison, where he was a deacon. He also formerly served on the Morrison School Board.

He is survived by his wife, Deb; two daughters, Shelly (Boone) Brackemyer and Susie Ottens, both of Morrison; two sons, Todd (Pamela) Witt of Charlotte, N.C., and Shane Witt of Chicago; one brother, Robert (Deb) Witt, of Clinton; and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and son-in-law Corey Ottens.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Morrison Chapel of Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. The funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Emmanuel Reformed Church in Morrison, with the Rev. Jeff McIlrath, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison.

Memorials can be made at Emmanuel Reformed Church and the American Cancer Society.
