STERLING – A man was shot about 9:32 p.m. Saturday at Sixth Avenue and East Fifth Street, police said Sunday in a news release.

The man was taken to CGH Medical Center, then checked himself out and is refusing to cooperate with the police, they said.

Police found a bullet casing in the intersection.

Anyone with information is asked to call Sterling police at 815-632-6640 or the anonymous reward hotline, Whiteside County Crime Stoppers, at 877-625-7867.
