Help clothing drive, get free ice cream
STERLING – Cold weather gear for children can be taken through Nov. 24 to Dairy Queen, 1203 W. Fourth St., to receive a free small ice cream cone.
Dairy Queen branches in 11 Illinois cities are working with WCIC Radio and relief group Rural Compassion to help families with winter clothing needs. New coats, hats, scarves, mittens and boots are sought for children from kindergarten through sixth grade.
Items will be distributed at local churches, some schools, and at Dream Center Peoria, a nonprofit agency. Visit www.wcicfm.org for more information.
