STERLING – Gene I. McFalls, 74, of Sterling, died at his home on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012. He owned Northwest Roofing Company for 33 years, retiring in 2002.

Gene was born Sept. 19, 1938, in Sterling, the son of William and Evelyn (Bressler) McFalls. He served in the Army as a paratrooper, last stationed at Fort Benning, Ga. He married Judith A. Williams on Feb. 8, 1963. She preceded him in death on June 15, 2002.    

Survivors include one daughter, Kathleen McFalls of Sterling; three sons, William McFalls of Vermont, Alan (Jodi) McFalls of Polo and Bradley (Beth) McFalls of Sterling; seven grandchildren; and one sister, Phyllis (Gerald) Frimodt.

He also was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Mildred Bressler; and two brothers, Harvey and Lewis McFalls.

There will be no visitation. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Schilling Funeral Home in Sterling, with the Rev. Mark Oehlert, pastor of St. John Lutheran Church in Sterling, officiating. Burial will be at Oak Knoll Memorial Park in Sterling.

A memorial has been established to Happy Tails Animal Shelter.
