STERLING – An Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training workshop will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 29 and 30 at Bethel Reformed Church, 230 E. 23rd St.

The 2-day interactive workshop is for anyone "who wants to feel more comfortable, confident and competent in helping to prevent the immediate risk of suicide," according to LivingWorks, which developed the program.

Cheryl K. Robinson, the Rev. Kenneth Zuithoff and Jeff Hippen, all of Sterling, will administer the workshop.

Registration is due by Friday, Nov. 23. The course is free to Sterling Public School employees and to students 16 and older; it's $100 for all others, but scholarships are available so that cost does not prohibit anyone who wants the training, Robinson said.

Resource materials, breakfast and lunch for both days are included.

Contact Robinson at crobinson@sterlingschools.org or 815-499-1655 to register or for more information.
