Sterling opens with win at Stillman; Rockets fall on road
Warriors pull away
Stephanie Kester scored 18 points to lead Sterling to an 64-30 win at Stillman Valley in a Sauk Valley Shootout contest on Monday.
The Golden Warriors (1-0) led 20-10 after the first quarter, then put the game on ice with a 34-18 scoring advantage over the next two quarters.
Raquel Romano finished with 11 points and Kiarra Harris added 10 points and nine rebounds for Sterling. McKenna Pearson had nine points and seven assists.
