Open house kicks off exhibits

STERLING – A full-day open house and supply fair will highlight the opening weekend of the Pieces and Patterns Winter Art Exhibit at Woodlawn Arts Academy, 3807 Woodlawn Road.

The exhibit will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 1. It will feature local vendors and presentations, giving quilting vendors a space to sell their merchandise and artists a space to quilt.

The exhibit, focusing on quilts by local and regional domestic artists, opens with a reception from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday. During the reception, local quilter Connie Barr will give a presentation at 6 p.m. featuring her Laura Ingalls Wilder quit.

The winter art exhibit will be on display through Feb. 15 in the halls and lobby of the academy.
