After being edged in the middle set, the Riverdale Rams put an exclamation point on the Class 2A third-place match Saturday at Redbird Arena on the Illinois State University campus in Normal.

Riverdale beat Edwards County 25-16, 24-26, 25-12 behind 11 spike kills by Jess Corson and 29 assists by Hannah Nimrick.

Deer Creek-Mackinaw (38-1), which beat Riverdale (33-4) in the semifinals by taking the last two sets, defeated Dakota (37-5) in the 2A title match, 25-23, 25-21. Dakota ousted Oregon in a sectional title match.
