Richard D. Downing, 40, of Dixon; 11:25 p.m. Saturday; illegal burning.

Benjamin G. Esgar, 22, of Dixon; 4 p.m. Sunday in the 200 block of Fox Trot, Lee County warrant – failure to appear – operating an uninsured motor vehicle, expired registration sticker, no valid driver’s license; taken to Lee County Jail.

Lee County Sheriff

Michael R. Carrico, 24, of Morrison; 11:29 p.m. Saturday; possession of cannabis, less than 2.5 grams; taken to Lee County Jail.

Joshua K. Larson, 27, of Amboy; 9:42 a.m. Friday; driving with a revoked license, fleeing, attempting to elude a police officer; given notice to appear in court.

Ogle County

Sheriff

Jessica Haymes, 31, of Davis Junction; 3:30 p.m. Nov. 6 in the 13000 bock of East Route 72 and Junction Way; failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident after striking a vehicle driven by Gerald Williams, 36, of Davis Junction. Haymes, two passengers in her vehicle and Williams were taken to local hospitals for minor injuries.

Sterling Police

Isaac J. Campos, 32, of Sterling; 4:40 a.m. Sunday at 2415 E. Lincolnway; driving with a revoked license; posted $170.

Stacia R. Walter, 16, of Dixon; 11:15 a.m. Sunday at Locust Street and Miller Road; speeding; posted driver’s license.

Whiteside County Sheriff

Carl R. Banda, 58, of Rock Falls; 1:05 a.m. Nov. 1 in Sterling; driving under the influence, failure to signal when required, posted bond. Aid provided by Sterling Police.

Derik P. LeBarron, 21, of Rock Falls, 12:19 a.m. Nov. 2 in Rock Falls; tinted windows, no valid driver’s license, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle; posted bond; aid provided by Rock Falls Police.

Michael Powell, 24, of Chicago; 2 a.m. Nov. 2 on U.S. Route 30, west of Morrison; operating an uninsured motor vehicle; posted bond.

16-year-old Rock Falls boy; 12:58 a.m. Nov. 6 in Sterling; driving under the influence of drugs, no valid driver’s license – graduated license, curfew, possession of cannabis; released to his mother after given notice to appear in court. A 17-year-old girl of Rock Falls was charged with consumption of alcohol by a minor and obstructing identification; released to a guardian pending juvenile court service action. Aid provided by Sterling Police.

Wise saw collapse in support

Last week, Sterling Alderwoman Amy Viering attended her last meeting as a city official. She gave the usual praise one hears at such departures. But one compliment stuck out. At the end of her speech, she turned to City Administrator Scott Shumard and said, "You're awesome."
