Now it’s up to Congress to work together

I’m real glad President Obama earned a second term. This should be a real wake-up call to Republicans to get out of their bubble of Fox News and Rush Limbaugh; welcome to the real world.

If a Republican president had accomplished all that President Obama has, they’d be touting him as one of the best presidents ever. I heard someone on TV call him a Mount Rushmore president. I think that’s stretching it a little. Maybe?

Anyway, I hope Congress will now get out of its no-no-no agenda and work together for the sake of our country. If not, midterms are looming.

This election proved one thing. You cannot lie and buy your way to the White House. Thank God and amen. People seem to forget Barack Obama is as much white as he is black. He’s half and half. Much like the creamer you put in your black coffee to make it better. So, wake up and smell the coffee.

Barack Obama is working for the middle class and those trying to get into the middle class. He’s accomplished quite a lot in his first term: health care reform, equal pay for equal work, economic stimulus package, auto bailout, ending the Iraq war, ending Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell, and killing Osama bin Laden, to name a few.

The righties now say that the uninformed voted for Obama. In fact, it’s just the opposite. Of the top 20 states with the highest number of college-educated people, all but one voted for Obama. Of the bottom 20 states with the least number of college- educated people, all but one voted for Romney.

I really look forward to what he may accomplish in his second term. All we need is some bipartisanship on both sides to make our country better. We can only hope.

Good or bad? Depends on who you ask

Sometimes readers ask for more good news in the paper. They say we in the media only cover the bad. But one person's positive is another's negative.

My kind of game

I would have gladly paid to take in the game I covered Saturday morning in Morrison.
