Illinois Tollway hosts public hearing on budget

DOWNERS GROVE (AP) — Officials with the Illinois Tollway are inviting the public to review the agency's tentative 2013 budget.
The tollway's board of directors is hosting a public hearing Tuesday evening at the agency's headquarters in Downers Grove. The hearing will also be broadcast live online. There's also an open house planned for Wednesday in Schiller Park.
Tollway officials say the proposed plan is under review by the board. It covers the annual maintenance and operations for the 286-mile system and $922 million in capital projects.
Officials say the budget doubles its capital spending over 2012.
